CNN Foreign Affairs Reporter Elise Labott Secretary Hillary Clinton saying 'no' to running in 2016: 'she needs a break and needs to kind of think about what she wants to do next'

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not running for president in 2016. At least that’s what she says. Clinton, who is widely popular in both the Obama administration and around the world, told Marie Claire magazine that she is done with politics after her run as Secretary of State. CNN Foreign Affairs Reporter Elise Labott has travelled with Secretary Clinton for the past three and a half years and interviewed the former first lady recently. She has more on Clinton’s interview with Marie Claire and why Clinton insists she’s ready to rest.

Labott says Clinton wouldn’t be the first politician to “say that she’s not running and then run,” But Labott is familiar with what Clinton’s job entails and can attest to the fact that “she’s tired.” “She’s been on the road,” Labott says. “She’s been in politics first as first lady, then as senator, now secretary of state, at a frantic pace travelling around the world.” Labott says, “Certainly she needs a break and needs to kind of think about what she wants to do next.”

Still, Labott says Clinton may reconsider after 2013 when “she’s had a chance to recharge.” “I don’t think we’ve seen the end of this question.”
