The race is on to turn Jersey Shore into a summer paradise – CNN's Poppy Harlow reports

Memorial day brings the unofficial start to summer and many businesses on the sandy-battered east coast are still recovering.

In a new triple-a poll, 79% of travelers say the storm has not changed their summer plans.

69% say they'll spend the same or more time at the Jersey Shore.

Jurors deadlocked on sentence for convicted killer leads to mistrial in Jodi Arias penalty phase – CNN’s Casey Wian reports

Spectators who lined up for courtroom seats are preparing themselves for "phase two" in the penalty phase of her murder trial the judge declaring a mistrial after jurors could not agree on life in prison or the death penalty.

A retrial on the sentencing issue for Arias who was convicted of murdering her ex-boyfriend is now set for July. CNN’s Casey Wian is following developments.

Moore Medical Center's Dr. Stephanie Barnhardt describes sheltering from the tornado: 'We were still treating patients'

Dr. Stephanie Barnhardt of the Moore Medical Center describes sheltering from the EF5 tornado. Dr. Barnhardt says doctors were still treating patients until they saw the tornado was headed in their direction.

"The power went out and at that point, we told the patients to get the mattresses," Dr. Barnhardt says. "We were handing out blankets and sat on the floor and ducked for cover."

Rescuer devastated by bodies discovered at Plaza Towers Elementary School – Pamela Brown reports

Rescuer Adam Baker discovered unspeakable horrors when he rushed to search for survivors, including his nephew, at Plaza Towers Elementary School. Pamela Brown says, "He encountered four children buried under the massive debris of the collapsed school, suffocated by its sheer weight."

Baker pulled them out and says he "tried to put them in a row as respectfully" as he could. He says it was terrible, but it was his duty as an American."It's a hole in your heart just to see these little broken bodies," Baker says.

John King tours the devastation in what remains of the Plaza Towers Elementary School

The Plaza Towers Elementary School took a direct hit from the tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma on Monday afternoon. As a result, the lives of seven children were taken. John King tours the school, now in ruins, with Sgt. Jeremy Lewis of the Moore, Oklahoma Police Department.
