CNN/Time Poll: Slight dip in support for gun control measures in last month – Paul Steinhauser explains
Washington (CNN) – There is strong support from Americans for many of the proposals to curb gun violence that President Barack Obama announced Wednesday, but according to a new national poll, public support has slipped a bit when compared to surveys taken immediately after last month's mass shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut.
A CNN/Time Magazine/ORC International poll also indicates that Americans generally favor stricter gun control and think that it is too easy to buy guns in this country, but they don't believe that stricter gun laws would reduce gun violence all by themselves.

I believe the US Citizen has the absolute right to own ANY gun he or she wants to. I also believe that the operator of the gun is responsible for the gun's usage. I also believe that President Obama wants to register every gun in America, have every gun owning American tracked, and restrict purchasing of ammunition. I believe that once all LAW ABIDING citizens register their firearms, President Obama and Congress will change the laws once again, and armed law enforcement officials will take the guns I have registered. Overall, my poll indicated that 90% of those polled want less stringent gun control laws, and even some current gun laws cancelled. I also believe that the national debt will continue to skyrocket under this current administration.
