I was somewhat concerned when I heard a "gushing" interview with a spokes-person for Citizens United this morning on your show. This person was attacking the 'Occupy' movement as if it was some kind of terrorist organization, while describing the 'Tea Party' as some kind of populist uprising.
What ever happened to investigative reporting? I am located near Arlington, VA, and have a spouse who worked for an organization called 'Americans for Prosperity.' She eventually quit the job, but before she did, she copied reams of documents that show that David and Charles Koch pumped millions of dollars through AFP into the so-called 'Tea Party.' There is a story on this that is being published in the Washington Post. This is populism?
Do you folks actually know what the original Boston Tea Party was about? It was a move by the elite of Boston to ensure that taxes being collected by the British could now be collected by them. It was not a populist 'up-rising' either.
Also, although I am not a fan of the 'Occupy' movement, they actually are populist, but look at what Police departments have used against them (these are so-called 'non-lethal' weapons):
-At UC Davis, did you ever see the video of the police officer who sprayed pepper gas directly into the eyes of a peaceful protester who was on his knees on the ground?
-Have you ever treated young, adult patients that suffered permanent hearing loss after the Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) was directed at them by the Washington police.? Because I have treated such victims – these are members of an Occupy movement that is actually a populist group.
The American Academy of Neurologists is developing a statement that condemns the use of systems such as the LRAD,
the Mob Excess Deterrent Using Silent Audio (MEDUSA – this weapon uses microwaves and causes permanent CNS damage), the Active Denial System and other such devices against U.S. citizens. If you don't believe that these devices exist and have been used by police departments against Occupy protesters, I will be glad to send you additional data about these devices – they even had a conference here in DC about the weapons and how they been used against members of the Occupy movement
It is ironic that a so-called 'grass-roots' organization, that was started and is run by 2 of the wealthiest men in the U.S. is shown to be credible on your TV show, but an actual grass-roots organization is portrayed as criminals.
I would end by echoing the words of the Treasurer and the Prime Minister of Australia – 'Let's be blunt and acknowledge the biggest threat to the world's biggest economy are the cranks and crazies that have taken over a part of the Republican Party,' Swan said. He said 'the extreme right Tea Party wing' of the Republican Party had held the national interest hostage during last year's debate over the U.S. borrowing limit despite President Barack Obama's 'goodwill and strong efforts.'
For heaven's sake, use your own intelligence and figure out what is happening in this country. At least understand the history of this country – As the U.S. Declaration of Independence said in its original form – "Life, Liberty and property" – a phrase plagiarized from my great ancestor, Jonathon Locke.

To whom it may concern-
