Tropical Storm Debby drenching Florida coast – John Zarrella on how the state is preparing for a prolonged storm

(CNN) - Tropical Storm Debby threatened to spawn more tornadoes Monday as the stationary storm pummeled the Gulf Coast with fierce winds and heavy rain.

The storm has already killed at least one person after apparent tornadoes struck central Florida, officials said.

And with Debby coming to a standstill in the northern Gulf of Mexico, states surrounding the sprawling storm could endure high winds and intense rainfall for days.

As of Monday morning, Debby was centered about 90 miles south-southwest of Apalachicola in the Florida Panhandle, the National Hurricane Center said.

CNN's John Zarrella looks at the potential damage Debby could cause to the Florida coast on "Early Start" this morning.

Please tell John Zarrella that it is the Intracoastal Waterway, not the Intercoastal Waterway.

Dan, sometimes I feel like we are ainrugg even when I think we basically agree. I wrote a semi-lengthy response to your last comment, then re-read your comment, and decided to scratch the previous response. I don't think we really disagree much in regards to what we are saying about Reagan though I suppose I like Reagan more, maybe much more, than you do.

I found it interesting on the Democratic side as well as now it is annyoe's race going into NH. I tend to think that if Romney loses big in NH e.g., finishes behind Huck and McCain he is done. I personally think that the liberals are happy as can be with Hucks win if he gets the nomination we are assured of a democratic president. While I am glad Obama won over Hilary, I am disgusted with the selection of the bigoted Huck by Republicans make me realize why I am glad I am not a Republican it is embarrassing
