It's a video that very few people get to see, much less capture in person.
A TV crew was lucky enough to catch footage of an 8-foot shark feasting on a rare giant squid, off the Australian coast. The crew just happened to be filming in the area.
The giant squid was estimated to be over 12 feet long, but had already been partially eaten when the crew arrived. It was reportedly so heavy that the crew wasn't able to haul it into the boat to study it further.
This morning on "Early Start," Shedd Aquarium's vice president of animals collections Tim Binder explains how elusive these creatures are, and explains what scientists can learn from seeing this footage.

Wow I feel bad for the squid.
LOL ...wow... I would like to see a live one one day too...
Ahhahaha! So true.
I don't think Mitt is finished. I think this is the most inseterting primary I've ever seen and the most unpredictable. I think the Republicans are going to duke it out to the bitter end and I see Romney as the VP candidate if he doesn't finish. I don't think Huckabee has a chance because, although he won Iowa, he's too extreme. I think the other state primaries are going to even that one out.I would have voted for him if he hadn't been such an A-hole about our religion. I no longer like him at all.I don't think Hillary has a chance even if by some miracle she should win the nomination.Because America is not that stupid. There is no doubt that Bill Clinton will be back in the white house and I just think at our core we are too practical and sensible to want that. It would be a train wreck.I like Obama. But I don't trust my own judgement because I'm too easily charmed. And he is extremely charming and well spoken. I love the way he speaks. You guys, can you see Guiliani as the candidate, with Mitt as his VP against Obama and his VP candidate? That would be a horse race. That might be the first election in awhile that people aren't voting for the worst of two evils, my previous comments to the contrary notwithstanding.I haven't been this intrigued by an election since Carter ran against Ford and I was solidly in favor of Ford. I think Jimmy Carter was a very good man and honest, but I thought he would make a terrible president and I was right.Sorry, Dan, but not every Democrat is perfect.
Ouch! The close-ups don't look like a giant squid. Looks like..
