Contentious testimony for star witness in Zimmerman trial – George Howell reports

Testimony resumes today in murder trial of neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, charged with the killing of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.

But many are still talking about the dramatic, sometimes contentious debate between the prosecution's star witness and the defense team trying to discredit her.

CNN's George Howell is covering the trial and has the latest.

Why were the facts of Zimmerman's injuries not noted from the very beginning. I believe this was would have had significant bearing on the whole case. I don't know if it is possible, but I think there should be retrial.

If Trayvon Martin was slugging it out with Zimmerman, WHY can't he be standing his ground? Zimmerman was the stalker and the catalyst for Trayvon's murder. Why can't anyone comprehend the fear Trayvon must have been experiencing. Also, according to Mori's testimony, Zimmerman was doing something to his head and walking back and forth to the garbage. I suggest Zimmerman was beating himself in the back of the head to justify murdering Trayvon. Did anyone notice that the blood on Zimmerman's head began almost in a straight line, below the crown of his head, very suspicious pattern. Also why the inconsistencies in the pictures? Some show lumps and nothing more, others are different?

I want to speak as a mother of a black son. I feel like George had no business following a young man in the rain. Trayvon, had to be in painic mode, I would have been afraid myself. I could not even try to understand what had to be going through his mind, Trayvon was not looking for a fight, he was trying to get home to watch the game. I think George was brave and bold because he had that gun, Neighborhood watch captain would know that all he is suppose to do is report and then allow the police to get the person. He had no business leaving his car, nor would he have, had he not had that gun. I think it is so sad that a family lost their child, because a wanna be cop, was more concern with getting the man, than reporting a guy walking in his neighborhood. George you are guilty of killing Trayvon, period!

There were no bruises or other injuries on Trayvon's hands so clearly Zimmerman staged his very extensive injuries (broken nose, head gash requiring stitches, etc.) and the jury must convict Zimmerman and the prosecutor should go after whomever helped Zimmerman stage his injuries (most likely his brother...brothers often fight and roundhouse for fun or in anger. I wonder how it felt to beat up his brother to try to help him get away with murder but at the same time wanting to beat him up to punish him for being so stupid that he killed a neighbor's teenager when he could have just stayed in his car).

No bruises on Trayvon's fists so clearly Zimmerman staged his injuries and jury must convict him and the prosecutor should go after whomever helped him stage his injuries.
