Arizona mom speaks out from jail about arrest on drug smuggling charges in Mexico – CNN’s Rafael Romo reports

The American woman accused of trying to smuggle 12 pounds of marijuana is speaking out from inside a Mexican jail. The soldiers who arrested Yanira Maldonado were supposed to appear in court Wednesday but defense attorneys say they never showed up. Hearings in the case will resume tomorrow.

-CNN’s Rafael Romo is the first reporter to interview Maldonado in jail and has the latest from Nogales, Mexico.

22-year-old hacking suspect Michael Adebowale due in court for death of British soldier

One of the two prime suspects in last week's brutal hacking death of a British soldier is due in court at this hour. 22-year-old Michael Adebowale was formally charged with murder yesterday. He and another suspect allegedly ran over Lee Rigby then killed him in broad daylight using cleavers and knives

A gang member now charged with first degree murder in the fatal shooting of a six-month-old Jonylah Watkins – CNN's Ted Rowlands reports

A gang member who's been arrested 38 times before is now charged with first degree murder in the fatal shooting of a six-month-old baby.

Koman Willis is accused of shooting Jonylah Watkins inside her father's parked minivan March 11th. Investigators believe the theft of a PlayStation video console may have sparked the shooting.

The American woman accused of trying to smuggle 12 lb. of marijuana is due in court today. Casey Wian has more. "There's a chance she's gonna get out soon," Wian reports. But, he says, “In this case the judge has the power to hold Maldonado in prison up to four months before trial.”
