State Sen. Chris Smith (D-FL) on creating a task force to review Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.
I think you are right. No one is discussing that fact that this kid was scared or a little nervous about being followed, which means his defenses were JUSTIFIABLY up as well, and he perhaps resorted to physically defending himself as opposed to having a gun on his person. The probably for a lot of people is that if Zimmerman was wrong, and I believe he was and is, the "Stand Your Ground" law is wrong as well, not to mention it is a very dangerous piece of legislature as well. Trayvon is not the only victim down in FL of this law.
Justice for Trayvon
There is only ONE issue in the Trayvon Martin case – Zimmerman got out of his vehicle and chased the kid. If Trayvon ran or fought back, is that what we all tell our kids to do if approached by a stranger? The news media and the groups need to focus on this one issue, not all this extraneous stuff.
