Early Reads for Monday, Feb. 27th

We're getting an early read on your local news that's making national headlines: This morning we have papers from New York and Los Angeles.

NY TIMES: U.S. Scientists uncover a potential breakthrough in battling infertility.

Scientists are now using stem cells to generate human eggs. Though their work is still in the early stages, biologists are isolating stem cells from which new eggs can be created.

LOS ANGELES TIMES: 22 Carnival Splendor cruise ship passengers robbed in Mexico

Gunmen stole the passengers' valuables, including cameras and money. They were tourists ambushed near Puerto Vallarta riding on a bus back from a nature hike in the Mexican jungle.
Carnival, the company that ran the cruse, is apologizing.
